RANKED CHOICE VOTING (RCV) PRIMER
This year there are three candidates for RPV Chairman. The State Central Committee voted to elect our new chairman with a majority vote rather than a plurality. With the convention format we are using, conducting a second round of voting is not possible. Therefore, we will be using RCV to achieve a majority. We will be ranking our selections on our ballot, and if a majority vote is not achieved after the initial count, a second round of counting will take place in an “instant runoff.”
Please read this short primer on RCV to ensure you fill out your ballot correctly and keep your ballot “in play” during the “instant runoff.”
